I was very intrigued by the concept of a machine that would vibrate the body so as to stimulate the lymphatic system and what have you, without having to do much beyond standing in one position. I had seen something similar in the gym and figured I would give this a shot. As a fitness instructor, it was especially intriguing to know if a machine like this could really do all it is claiming in one 10 minute fell swoop.The machine is substantial, much heavier than expected. It is easy to set up and power on, although the power cord is super short. I would have appreciated a longer cord for sure. I paired it with blue tooth, but kind of regret doing so because the machine's voice is super annoying and strange. I realize I could just play music from my phone so there was no point in trying to get the music to come through the vibration plate.I put the included "positions" poster in front of me when using this, but wish there had been more clarification about what the various levels mean, either on the machine or at least on the poster. There is a brief description of it in the included manual, but I still find it a bit confusing, whether P1, P2 or what have you is best for me. I did a lot of research online to try to understand this machine better because although the instruction manual does explain it to some degree, I guess I want to understand it at a deeper level. I actually decided to inquire about it at my gym to hear what they had to say and to compare a very high-end gym's vibration plate with this one. The gym's vibration plate was substantially bigger than the home version and has upright handle bars. I asked the trainer his objective opinion of the machine and he said that he might use it for ten minutes max before a workout just to loosen things up, but he didn't seem to think that it was actually a workout in itself.I have to admit, it does feel great to have all of this vibration going through your entire body--it's almost like having a full body massage gun happening all at once...you know, instead of blasting one spot with the device, you are getting that kind of intensity all over. I had read somewhere not to wear shoes while on a vibration plate, but in the manual, the model has shoes on so I guess that is the way to do it? It is definitely a better workout the wider apart your feet are...the first time I tried it, I didn't know that and it didn't do much. As soon as I assumed a wider stance and got into a good squatting position, I really started to feel the burn. My biggest issue/concern is that when I try to do some of the suggested basic positions, my neck starts shaking WAY too much. I have a slightly bulging disc in my neck so it just doesn't feel like it could be smart to have it jostling around so intensively. If I hold a squat position, I can control my neck, but as soon as I stand up straight or start moving around, I feel too concerned about my neck. I almost feel like I should wear a little neck brace when doing this just to be safe! They included a DVD with this order, but that seems like a bit of an antiquated technology. I don't have a way to watch it and wish they provided a thorough tutorial on their website, but I didn't see one.Even though I got this vibration plate seemingly for no cost, I will in fact be paying almost two hundred dollars in income tax on it so I do have some skin in this game. All in all, I do like this concept of shaking up the lymphatic system and what have you and it is fairly fun to use, but for the current selling price of over six hundred dollars, I think it is too expensive. I will absolutely continue using it, but with caution in protecting my neck and my brain--it definitely doesn't seem like a great idea to let either of those two body parts get too rattled. If I see a miraculous change in my body, my health, anything after using it daily for a month, I promise to update this review.
