The best part of a nice warm shower is getting to put Brothers Body Balm on afterwards. It has worked wonders for my dry skin.My skin was extremely dry. It was always white, flakey and would sometimes crack and be bloody. At the very least, it was unsightly, but also quite painful at times. My thumb was in such bad shape that I could no longer reliably unlock my phone with my thumbprint.Once in a while when it would get really bad, I would try vaseline and bandages/gloves which gave some temporary relief. Unfortunately it was also a very greasy solution. Enter Brothers Body Balm which has changed everything.First off, I thought they would be small little tins, so I ordered two of them. It turns out they are actually pretty decently sized tubs and it will probably take me a while to get through the first one. The design is very clean and simple, no flashy graphics and colors, so it would make a suitable gift for the ashy man in your life (if that's not you).The balm itself is a beige color, very smooth. Because the ingredients are primarily plant fats, it melts from solid to liquid oil on the tips of your fingers. I take just a tiny bit and rub it into my knuckles, fingers and toes. The scent is the best part. As far as I can tell there are no additional added fragrances. It's made with cocoa and coconut which gives it a light chocolatey scent. If I had to describe it, it's like an Almondjoy or Mounds candy bar, which happen to be some of my favorite candies. My wife also enjoys it when I put it on. I almost want to spread it on some toast and eat it (don't do that!).The ingredients are as simple as it gets, just a handful of plant-based ones. You don't need an advanced degree in chemistry to pronounce them either.So far the results have been stellar. My knuckles in particular, which were rough and bloody before, are much smoother. My thumb has recovered a lot as well. I hope the improvements continue as I keep using the balm.Also, who doesn't love vegan products from a black-owned small business?
