This textbook was required for a medical terminology class I had. I love the format that each chapter begins with a review of the body system (i.e., skin, digestive, respiratory, cardiovascular, blood & lymphatic, musculoskeletal, urinary, female and male reproductive systems, nervous, endocrine, and special senses,). This helps to ground each chapter in the body system and organs its related to. Afterwards there's a discussion of common diseases and illnesses associated with the body system. Then there's a section of common diseases, diagnostic labs & procedures. These are broken down to understand the word parts comprising the medical terms. This text was a great refresher for Anatomy & Physiology 2 where I needed help for a general introduction to a body system, its organs, and their functions. Also there are practice questions at the end of each chapter to test your knowledge on the medical terms. There are answers at the back of the book, but it's much easier if you give it a try before copying all the answers. If you are entering the medical/healthcare field and need to take a medical terminology class this is the best book because its thorough and easy to use.
