I really wish that I had access to this textbook while I was in nursing school because it correlated the human body and the disease processes by giving examples of commonly discussed illnesses in words that can be understood. I have read a comment here about the book being basic. That depends on taste. Sometimes, we need basic. Because this subject is SO important, it is imperative for a student to see the relevance early on, because most anatomy classes are dry and superficial. Give a reason to learn, the student will follow. I actually refer to this text moreso after school than I did during. It can also offer great preparation for a student to review before entering the actual class to have a better foundation.
